A simple Instagram challenge was all it took for Bradley Johnson and Dexter Blackstock to get their heads together to devise one of the most heart-warming acts of kindness from the footballing world in these unprecedented times.
'I have access to PPE equipment that a lot of people don't': Former Southampton striker Dexter Blackstock aiming to help NHS through his medical supply chain company
Former striker Dexter Blackstock is using the company he founded in retirement to help the public donate much-needed personal protective equipment (PPE) to frontline staff dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
My name is Dexter Blackstock. I’m a recently retired professional footballer. I now run MediConnect, a blockchain company involved in pharmaceuticals.
I have teamed up with current professional footballer Bradley Johnson to donate and raise money to buy medical grade equipment direct from source and deliver to the treatment hubs that need it most.
Our goal is to raise £1 million + so that if any hospitals / pharmacies / care homes etc, need protective masks or gloves, we can use our supply chains to get them where they are desperately needed fast! With your help, we can help save NHS staff, key workers and their patients lives. Please give generously and together we can beat this pandemic.
Thank you so much for your support.
Your donation will save lives!
